Default stretched tires/ hellaflush stuff

is this where the car scene is headed? i see so many people comment on the cars posted saying how good it looks slammed with too much negative camber and stretched tires. does anyone else out there think it looks stupid?
i know to each there own

There's a ton of fashion involved in the JDM and Euro scene right now. I like a lot of it, but stretched tires that I think started on the VW side (?) really is dumb.

Looks "mad tite" in pics = handles like shit or worse (undrivable).

It started with drifters looking to make the cars drift easier. Smaller tires are cheaper and easier to break traction, but like most things JDM, it went from purposeful to poseur when it made it to the US.

Sad thing is, people are making S2000 into poseur cars now - dumped to an inch of their life, equipped with ridiculous things like stretched tires and 20" rims, and go fast bits that only see speed on the highway.

I don't get it. The car looks good a little lower than stock IMO, but scraping the ground is quite a different thing. I've never got the hellaflush or stretched tires thing.
