This is the worst thing I've ever done to a coworker:

My company has an Intranet site that has, among other things, job postings. I went to the Intranet, and copied one of the job postings, and modified it to look like we're hiring a "replacement for our current DBA." I then put it up on my local web server (I develope web apps) and sent a link of that job posting to a few of my co-workers, including the DBA.

The DBA totally panicked (partly because he med up a few things just a few weeks before). The rest of us had a pretty good laugh.

Use Saran wrap to enclose the entrance to a cubicle, and then fill it with packaging foam. I had pictures in my email, but I can't find them.

Also, put corn starch or flower on some wax paper slipped under an office door...blow on it with a hair dryer, it will cover everything in the office with the powder.

That last one may cause damage to most electronics, so I wouldn't do it.

Here's a harmless one, but I had a lot of fun with it. This works on all the Dell PCs we have here at work, but I don't know if it'll work for you.

On a Dell, press ALT CTRL and the DOWN ARROW button. The screen will flip upside down, confusing the crap out of your co-worker.

To reset, just press ALT CTRL and the UP ARROW.

You can use the LEFT and RIGHT arrows to turn the image sideways, but it screws up your desktop settings, so if you don't want to be cruel, just use up and down arrows.

I have a co-worker that was on vacation and I knew his password. Soooo...

I took a screenshot of his desktop, hid all his icons, and made the screenshot the background image. He came back and couldn't click on anything, thought he had a virus, rebooted about 10 times. And I was just LMAO.

I've also gone into his email and set the auto-correct to replace his name with "ASS" and other stuff.

I then blamed it all on another co-worker. Boy, that was fun!

I now make sure to lock my computer when I leave for the day.
So...(clears throat) how would one go about hiding a desktop icon?

you just put it in the recycle bin. Then if you want it back you just 'restore' it.

LMAO, that's awsome man. Next time try leaving a few things on the desktop right over where the picture of the icon was so that only "some" of the icons worked hehehe.

Windows XP

Right-click on the Desktop

Go to Arrange Icons By

Select Show Desktop Icons

Use this to toggle the icons on and off

Yeah, unfortunately he was running 2000. That is a better way if the victim is running XP.
