Default Subaru Impreza WRX

I read the Impreza forums a lot (www.i-club.com) and I'm really impressed with the car. Probably from playing to much GT3 (!) Regardless...

This was the car that I was orginally going to get before problems with the Sales Manager lead me to buy my S2000. I just wanted to know if anyone here actually had one. Or has Test-driven one. What do you think of the car?

A co-worker here has one...he wanted to race me. I told him sure, as long as we get to switch cars afterwards. At this point I'm trying to convince my wife that I *need* a daily driver. If that doesn't work out then I'm going to be waiting for the STi (276hp) if that ever makes it to the US.

I test drove a 5spd WRX yesterday and I thought it was a lot of fun. Nice, quiet and fast. For the money, low $20K, you can't beat the value vs. performance.

Hey William, speaking of ugly, can't you at least make a nicer signature picture of your S2K. Everytime I see your sig, I cringe because that photo is sooooooo big and sooooooo out of focus.

Thanks for listening.

Moved to off-topic for non S2K automotive discussions...

Much info about WRX on the board, here's a link to search results on WRX in the subject line:

I agree. A car can be forgiven for its lack of performance if it's pleasing to the eye. You can't forgive a car for being ugly even if it performs like lightning.

See thats the thing. Everyone has their opinion on how cars look. I like the new design of the car. With some simple cosmetic changes the car looks really nice.

That is only a matter of opinion though. I mainly thinking about the performance.

I just convinced one of my friends to buy one, and we both like the styling as well as the hell on wheels performance. He got the wagon (he has 2 big dogs), and he's really happy with it.

The longer he has it, the more it grows on me...

Yeah. I read the WRX forums daily (like I do here) and the more I read about it the more I wish I could buy it. Now convincing my wife to get it is a different story
