That is quite a fun car. I must admit Boost is kind of an addictive thing, I had never driven an awd car before, nor a turbo'd car. The handles were decent, surely not an S but still handled well in my opinion. The recaro seats seem to just hold you in place, however the shifting is a bit odd from the S. Would probably want a shorter shift. Space was a + as was the awd aspect.

Bottom line, I wouldnt mind having one in my garage to a cool car.

Evo's are pretty good cars. The shifting is definately not on par with the S2000! The interior is pretty much all crap except for the seats.....

but.... even stock they beat S2000's in drag racing, lap times, slalom, steering feel, etc......

With just a few mods they can be made much quicker too...... boost controller is about $100. ECU Reflash is about $200 (for the mail in version)....that alone would get you ~40-whp over stock. which makes a pretty big difference.

my engine is stock, but i lowered it and put 18" wheels on it.

Test drive a Scooby STi, it's more rewarding than the EVO. To bad we don't get either in 2-door versions, I miss my beloved 22B.

Does "rewarding" mean- More $, Less feedback, less mod-able, slower around most race tracks?

Never drove an STI but most magazines (mag racing is king) take the Evo over the STI....

I think the STI supposedly is the better "daily driver" (as in the suspension doesn't kill your spine quite as quickly).

I would love to have an Evo, but my experience with Mitsubishi products and service in the past has been subpar.

Scot,
How has the service been on the EVO in your opinion?

Luckily i really haven't needed anything big 16.5k miles and no problems........ there have been a couple of recalls....

My closest dealer absolutely sucks....so i drive 40 miles to the place where i bought it..... but even they sort of suck..... we make an appointment for the recall item(s) and then when i get there they don't have the parts.... they have to order them...... so why did i drive to the dealer???

I don't know what the %'s are, but my car runs strong, is reliable and has taken a fair amount of abuse..... i am not stupid enough to do burnouts or anything, but in the wet it is always spinning

Are you sure you don't own a Civic? You sound as bad as every 18 year-old Rainy-Day racer. Maybe you just need to read more, hmmm?
