I saw two of these yesterday... One in the Honda service bays of all places, and the second on the floor of the associated BMW dealer.

Can you think of better ways of spending $130,000?

Well a Modena would be nice but the Series 1 with the Supercharger is faster than the Modena the Z06 Vette the Porsche TT, and the Viper. Also a Moden will run upwords of 160-200K.

II saw this car IN THE FLESH at the USGP. Shelby had set up a
tent showing his wares (Cobras and the Series 1). I was
under whelmed. It is not small, it does not have a trunk and the
dash and switch gear are from a Camaro. It has the same
Radio as my Cavalier Z24 (no kidding). I think I take the
$130K and by a low mileage 355

OK $130k you could have......

S2000 for dry sunny days
2002 M3 w/smg as a beater
Acura MDX for the winter

and some pocket change for a nice vacation

Yes, it is a Shelby.

I too was underwhelmed. I can't imagine anyone buying one of these for the price... The inside looks about equivalent to a late model Vette. Very boring. Huge gaping holes all over the body to manage air and cooling. Looks great from 20', but kind of funky up close.

But for the money, you are talking more like a late model F-355, not a Modena. Still, a much better choice if you want a supercar! Hell, I'd even take a Z8 over this monstrosity.
