I wish everyone in this damn world would stop invoking the name of God when they are trying to justify killing people.

More atrocities have been commited in the name of God than you can count. Everyone thinks they have God on their side when they wage war.

If there is a God he sure as hell won't be pleased that innocents have been slaughtered in his name for thousands of years.

Jihad and Holy Wars be damned.

What the USA is doing is out of necessity and self preservation. Terrorists have taken enough cheap shots thinking that we are a big lazy sleeping dog. Well the big lazy sleeping dog is awake and plenty pissed and those that have chosen to pull our tail will find out that the other end has some damn sharp teeth.

And when Sadam & Osama are dead it won't be in the name of God but rather the name of Dog.

da hapa, im sorry if i offended you. i wasn't talking to you directly. i made that statement b/c of an encounter that happened right after 9/11. i was in a home depot buying some things for my dad and there was this older lady outside passing out american flags. as i walked by, she asked me if i wanted one and i simply said no thanks b/c i was in a hurry. she then called me an "asshole, go ahead and support the terrorists". WTF it just ticks me off when everyone starts waiving the flag ESPECIALLY if they have never owned the american flag prior to 9/11. it IS basically just jumpng on the bandwagon.
don't take this personally, im talking about society as a whole.

Reading posts/threads on here the last couple of days makes me realize why s2ki doesn't allow politcs. Mav is simply trying to do a nice/patriotic gesture for those that would like a American flag.

Opinions are great and interesting to say the least, it seems this thread is being hijacked by those that don't share his opinion ( that I happen to share) and would rather not start thier own thread.

Cheers

I wonder what would happen if someone from Iraq posted a thread called "Support Iraq and our troops"

Yeah it sure looks like their is alot of bloodshed, I think that the only casualties on either side so far have been from a helicopter crash. I happened to think that the Iraqi people are very educated, in fact I think that they share very similar values with the western world, they have just not been able to express this under their current government. We are not conquering Iraq, but liberating it. People are acting like it is just Bush doing this. Folks, 80% of the american public is for war. Also I believe that the tally is up to 30+ countries that back the war. That includes 1/2 of the 4 dominant countries left in the world, U.S.A., and Britain (the other 2 being China and Russia) Please understand, that our troops are trying to help the people of Iraq.

You might be right, but that might also be the single most offensive thing you could possibly say to an Iraqi. I hope you're right

News Flash: It's 4:40 am and I am watching CNN here in Canada. It has been confirmed that 12 soldiers (8 british, 4 american) have died in a helicopter crash, as well as at least one marine has been killed in combat, possibly as many as four. Repeat: One confirmed, more possible but UNCONFIRMED

EDIT: More news: as many as 30 oil wells are on fire in Southern Iraq

(please do not flame me, I am posting just so people know the news up to date)
