tax question: 1098-T (tuition credit)
I had an ethical dilemma last year. My company paid 100% of graduate school tuition, but I still received a 1098-T in the mail. I definitely stopped and thought about taking a tax credit on it. But alas, better judgement made the right decision.

I'm pretty sure you can take the credit as long as you are not claimed as a dependent on parents return.

Right, but if your parents are paying your tuition, chances are they're claiming you as a dependent. I'd check into that.
but there's a real easy way to check if your parents are claiming you as a dependent.....
