i'm on the fence here. they deserved something, but death for robbing a house? and then you get into the homeowner's rights.... it's a messy double-edged sword.

i like the story of the naked mississippi man who beat a robber with a baseball bat until the cops took him. he wasn't going to do anythng until the robber approached the upstairs area where the naked dude's wife and kids were.

 

definitely a messy situation, but the article said that three of the teens came in armed.. one with a handgun, two with pellet guns.. when the owner came out of the bedroom, one of them pointed a gun at him... from that description, it would seem justified

My friend just picked up a Mossberg 500 Persuader from Academy and after testing it on a Watermelon with 00 Buck, I would have loved to test it on a robber or two.

If I heard a noise in my house at 2am and came out of my bedroom to find four guys I didn't know, three of them with guns, one of which was pointed at me... You can bet you ass if I also had a gun I would start blasting away at the intruders. stories like this make me want to have a gun handy.

Did they deserve to die? Sounds to me like the guy that shot them had every reason to believe that they might kill him so I don't think he over reacted.
