Is there a doctor in the house? Please help.......
So I was outside all weekend with a freshly shaved head. And I got some sunburn. Well when I woke up Monday to my surprise, the top of my head and forehead was swollen (like it was filled with fluid or something). So I stayed home and applied cold compresses on it all day. I woke up yesterday and the swollen areas around my head and forehead were gone but now my cheek bones were swollen. Got home last night and applied cold compresses again. Well I wake up this morning and to my surprise, me cheek bones were no longer swollen, but now my eyes were slightly. And now it's becoming a little more swollen around the bridge of my nose. Is this some kind of allergic reaction or something? What's going on and what else can I do to stop the swelling?
Thank you,
Chris
Thank you,
Chris
Don't take this the wrong way but.......
You and your swelling need to go see a doctor instead of asking for medical advice on a car forum. At least ask for advice on medical treatment forum!
Hope you feel better, but jeez, go see a doctor.

Go see a doctor. It may not be serious, but then again it may not be happening beceuse of the sunburn. Don't delay when it comes to your health.

Is your head blistered up? Swelling is a normal reaction to tissue damage i.e. sunburn. When tissue is dmaged, especially with burns, there are fluid shifts... we call it 3rd spacing. Basically, you vessels become very permiable and the "water" that is normally in them leaks out into the interstitial space... the tissue. Hence, your head swells. Now, when you apply the compress, the fluid is no longer able to go the area with the compress so it redistributes to another are i.e your cheeks and eyes. I wouln't be too concerned about the swelling. Use some aloe, don't break the blisters and keep them covered... you don't want an infection.
EDIT: This is not my professional opinion. I am unable to examine you, so you may have a much more serious burn than what is precieved from your post. I am merly stating the physiology behind the swelling due to a burn and giving some general advice but in the end, it is up to you and you alone to decide whether or not you need to consult a physician that is able to examine you and asses the extend of your injury.
