Default Is there a way to hack into a person's email

Here's a question: A person is invoved in an ugly legal battle for their father's estate and being told one thing from the "other party" but their lawyer is telling them another. They need to find out the "other party's" strategy. Can anyone recommend a site, a forum where they could get a "hired gun i.e. hacker " to get them access to the other party's email. It may seem odd, but if they were depserate for help, could a "hacker" get them acess i.e. password to their email....just wonerder
thanks

It's fairly easy. Especially if you know the person who's email you want to hack. Sometimes, you don't even need to use any tools. Usually it is done through social engineering. Getting to know the average person would give you clues into what they might use for a password. Either that or if you know them well enough, you might be able to guess the answer to their "secret question" and change the password to gain access.

Some emails are extremely easy to get into, for example, Hotmail. I remember one day I was in my Hotmail account and I got a prompt that asked me to reverify my username and password, I X'd the prompt of course, but a lot of people who are automatically signed in just think it's time to re-sign in. Unfortunately this is a hacking tool, once you put in your username and password the prompt goes away and no one is the wiser.

Some people are so good at hacking that they have no need of passwords, I know such people, but as mentioned before, they'd NEVER do what you ask, you're talking highly illegal here.

That would be a fun thing to do actually - rather sneaky but fun! The only way I can think of is to get said person to access their email from your computer and use a free "data logger or keystroke logger" found free at Tucows.com. I did this with an ex once a long time ago because I was expecting of her cheating on me and I was right
If you are on speaking terms to said person you can invite them over and tell them you sent them an importamt e-mail to them that you would like to discuss and have them check their account - have your little talk and when they leave " VIOLA " you now have there password but you cannot use any information against them or they will soon figure out what you did!

Can that keystoke thing be used to retrieve info i.e. if the email was accessed prior to the program being installed?

Only if once inside their e-mail account they have it saved or in a folder or trash bin! In other words you cannot retrieve the info unless you can get into thier email accounts and then it depends on their account setting within the e-mail service. The data or keystroke logger will only record information that was input once the program is up and running - Data retrieval is another thing all together, Do a search on Goggle to see what kind of software is available or thier are companies devoted to nothing but information retrieval - search for Password hacker or password finder and see what you come up with!

another thing is that if you have access to the computer they use to check their email, Google desktop will get you some of the email contents.
