This resembles the flu at first, with plain fever and body aches, but what truly stands out is a wet, productive cough that you have to repeat every 2-3 minutes. Not only that pushing out all the phlegm takes effort: like you're taking needles against your chest from the inside out. Also at one point your throat is swollen that it is difficult to speak

Does anyone else have or get this?

I had bronchitis a couple weeks ago that kicked the crap out of me, I had similar symptoms to what you have. If you haven't gone to the doctor yet, go now.

i was pretty sick for a day about 2 weeks ago, as was my roommate. i think i heard some friends from home (14 time difference) were sick at the same time...was wondering if it was some weird global flu or something haha.

i had what you described, minus the crazy cough. plus some loosey deucies.

Yup, I've had exactly what the OP has described minus the fever for the last week or so. The virus has weakened but I still have a cough. I even sweated profusely for 3 nights straight.
