Things to do at home...
Games are fun but usually with two people, a little more boring and less challenging unless you buy games that go on for days (big strategy games, which I haven't played but apparently are pretty interesting for some people).
What about taking up a hobby or learning something together? Go skating together. Learn how to cook together. Maybe exercise together.
Another good thing is to set a goal together. It might be to lose weight, read a book, take a class, reduce money spent (bargain shopping is fun), remodel the apartment (decor only, obviously), etc, etc. It gives a sense of accomplishment to you as a couple without just being a "time filler". You could also join a league of sorts - bowling, shooting, volleyball, basketball, etc, etc - anything indoors.
Going for walks is a nice way to relax but that's not fun during an Alberta winter. You would just end up dying together which is possibly romantic but ultimately not much fun.

Some really good tips in there guys! We're already pretty big into cooking together and for eachother and do so pretty much every day. Some day's I'll make her lunch before sending her off to work as well, so we've definitely got the food thing down pat. A cooking course might actually be fun though since we both enjoy cooking and could probably benefit from some actual training.
VTec, Drewmob, Jon and a couple of you other folks had some good ideas that I'll look in to. I had a Wii and we never played it so I shipped it off to my bro along with a bunch of games, extra remotes, and accessories. Happy engagement to him and his fiance!
Cheap of me? Probably, but I was going to sell it anyway and it was used like a dozen times. I packed it up in the box and it looked brand new but I told him it wasn't. He didn't care, free Wii.Anyway thanks for the tips, I'm sure we'll be able to come up with a few things as a result of this. Homo as it may be, Melina and I are both big fans of real estate, home decorating , and cooking so our TV is pretty much permanently tuned to HGTV, TLC, and The Food Network. As a result we've kind of exhausted any redecorating we can do around our place. Any time we come up with something or saw something we liked, we'd replace furniture, cut holes in walls to run cables, hang pictures, mirrors, shelves, etc. I look forward to having a house so we can actually put money into changing the place for the better and adding value to the property.
Cheers fellas!
It's Canadian Thanksgiving, so long weekend. I'm heading out shortly for beers with a buddy who just got into town.
