Ah, the old English system of justice (innocent unless proven guilty) vs. the French (guilty unless proven innocent), eh?

I think many more of the Australians would be prepared to side with you Axcilla if it wasn't for the fact that we have a classic case of Peter, having cried wolf too many times before.

This story is not to be taken lightly. If it is a false post, that's pretty low to be so inconsiderate and decietful. After all that the world's been through, I think that that is down right wrong to be lying about such a thing and the hell with you!!!
I for one believe this story nonetheless and is deeply saddened about the situation. Takashi, I hope you recover very soon! My prayers goes out to you and your family for a fast recovery. Please keep everyone posted at your convenieces. Get well soon!

I, for one, believe this is a hoax, or at least blown WAY out of proportion. This is my personal opinion, I am registering it as such, so please don't flame war me.

THe reasons I believe it is a hoax:

a) the logic flaws: How can someone get that severely beaten and still be able to log onto the network to answer emails? In less than 2 days, even?

b) Here in canada, and I do have a friend named Leanne R (last name withheld for privacy reasons) in the neurology department of Foothills hospital in Calgary, I have been told that there is a *minimum* observation period for persons suffering head trauma of 12 hours after they regain conciousness... now, this is in canada, not sure about other countries or continents. So, on that assumption, I find it highly unlikely that TK got attacked, had a 4 hour operation (which seems blazingly short for head trauma, doesn't it?), was in a *coma*, then got released less than 3 days after the attack and is able to respond to emails and make phone calls.

c) the ip traces: Chris and TK have the same IP, similar profiles, and the same style of posting (ie grammar, spelling, details)... now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a little bit suspicious?

d) the time delays: if you notice... from original post from chris, to the last time TK posted is under 24 hours difference. Now, calculate a 4 hour operation and add on the minumum observation time plus coma time and you get around 26 hours (assuming his coma was a short one, but most "Short" ones last 6 hours, so I am basing on that). Now, I am not a maths expert, but I am doing these calculations on the fly and I find that it is physically impossible to be in two places at once, if you're in a coma. So, you have two possibilties: a) you have one hell of a smart hacker/friend or b) it is actually TK posting

Now if he has stitches on the head, I believe he has had a whack on the noggin. But SOP for a head trauma operation of this severity is to shave off all the hair on the head, so whoever can contact him please ask him if he's bald now.

just my .02 and beliefs

Some nice detective work... I now believe that this is turning up to be a big hoax. Quite disgusting and saddening.

I wonder what motivates someone to do such a disgraceful thing? Maybe he is such a loser in real life that he has the need to make up a fantasy life on some internet forum to get off on. Or maybe he's an attention seeker who highlights his posts in red in that "look at me!" way. I don't even think anymore he even owns a S2000; a VIN can be easily obtained at any dealership by just walking up and pretending to buy a car. In any case, he's the ultimate troll.

FYI, he is coming from Dialup or some other Dynamic IP service. Not a business connection. And someone like RSA most DEFINATELY would control thier own reverse look-up DNS tables. Also NO company would use such a wide range of addresses.
