I know there was a thread about this a few days ago, sorry. I just got done watching MotorTrend Television on Speedvision. WHAT A F_CKING JOKE! ! ! ! they didn't say anything good about the car. All they did was defend the cars weakness'. I will never buy another M/T magazine. A damn thunderbird is not near the car of some of the competition.

II saw one yesterday on I-70 in MD it was yellow with the hard top. I did not find it very
pretty. It has HUGE overhangs. I don't think they had sports car drivers in mind
when Ford set to work on this.

That said; I'm sure the target audience will love it and Ford will sell it in big numbers.

The new Thunderbird (MT's Car of the Year) is, at best, a boulevard cruiser; and a high-priced one at that. It is no more of a sports roadster than was the original T-Bird. I don't think the buyers of this car will be disappointed, however. I doubt they will want to track or autocross their Birds.

Most modern cars (even the lowly Ford Focus) have lowered front ends and raised rear ends, obviously to improve stability at higher speeds. But not the new Thunderbird, poor thing

The Ford T-Bird is loved by the demographic it is shooting for. Basically the guy that was around when the original two seat T-Bird came out and who longs for that look and feel again. I'm the youngest guy (36) I know of that likes it. Boulevard Cruiser describes it perfectly. Very classic lines, etc...

It is a bit too pricey though but I love the commercial.

I don't know if this was covered or not in another thread, but the new Thunderbird is built on the Lincoln LS chassis. I think it drives (and looks) like a luxury sport sedan too.
