Today is the 58th Anniversary of D-Day.
58 years ago today, hundreds of thousands of young men from Great Britain, Australia, the US, France, and many other counties began the largest invasion in the history of the world and with that they began to finally put an end to Hitler's madness.
This morning on the Today Show, I heard an amazing statistic from Katie Couric. She stated that everyday some 1,100 veterans of WWII die. That means every day we lose a tremendous wealth of knowledge, experience, and bravery.
I don't want to jump into the political pool (since it's against the rules and all) but I do want to publically thank all members of the armed forces both past and present. My special thanks goes out to all those involved in D-Day.
THANK YOU
