I ate them yesterday. I ate them saturday. I ate them friday. I ate them thursday. I'll eat them today. It's called the grocery store people.. **** jack in the box. thats your first problem.
Tomatoes are actually considered a fruit versus a vegetable...but most people refer to them as a veggie.
Enough of my useless knowledge...
As if gas prices weren't enough to set high prices for tomatoes...now this salmonella scare BS...geesh.

A fruit is the structure growing as a result of a fertilization, which occurs after a plant flowers. Not all fruits will gernimate into a plant..
Any other part of the plant not resulting directly from a fertilization, or any part existing pre-fertilization, can be considered a vegetable.. or an herb. There is no good definition of a vegetable though.. it's basically anything other than an animal or mineral that is not the result of a fertilization.
