just watched it, and it's basically the British version repackaged for a new audience. not bad, i had to get used to the ads and not being able to rewind at will (no tivo).

I'll just stick with downloading them off the internet. The ones being shown on discovery are butchered to get the original hour long shows with no commercials down to the 40 minutes or so after they add commercials. Tonight's episode is also about a year old. It's still better than nothing and I'm glad to see they are finally showing it here in the US.

My impression:

Ok, so it's dumbed down. More quanitity reviews, but less quality. They cut to commercials way too often and at inappropriate times. I don't like how they convert to dollars from pounds, because it's completely irrelevant to the actual price in the United States. Instead of "

That's an Exige, not an Elise, and the Elise costs around $40k.

Great show, but the BBC version is obviously better. Also they didn't give it on Discovery HD!
