Default Top Gear USA

So today we went to the filming of the new Top Gear USA TV show. After years of trying to get on a network, History Channel picked it up for a season. We got an inside hookup on some VIP passes to get inside for the filming which means we did not get our phones and cameras taken away at the metal detector I was too big of a pussy to take the picture so Gary had to do it for me. The celebrity guests were Ty Burrell and Kid Rock. Its pretty much the exact same format as the UK version and I gotta say its pretty good and the hosts are pretty funny too.

Wow. I didn't expect the set would be the same. What were the cars they tested?

History Channel? I guess they don't want car guys to find the show. What's next, a yard makover show on Speed? How about a cooking show on MTV and music videos on HGTV. Christ.

They usualy have normal programming during the day on alot of thoes channels anyways. And depending on the content that TOP GEAR will show you could consider it "history."

I only saw like a 2 min montage of the upcoming season. But its pretty much the same style and format as the UK version. So Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari... the usual. lol But I'm guessing its going to be cars that are actually available here in the U.S. Not like I could afford any of those anyway. And they will prolly beat on some Mustangs, Camaros, Vettes and Vipers too. I mean it is Top Gear "USA" afterall.

And it is being shot at a hanger at the El Toro airfield in Irvine. Same place where the drift and cone dodging events were held.
