Speedometer indicated 127mph in my Prelude Si. . . The road was flat but unfortunately my friend's Supra TT wasn't He spun his wheels while doing about 100mph & left me like I was standing still. . .

I've done over 130 in my 99 Prelude. Funny thing is, I feel a lot safer doing 130 in my Prelude than in my S2000...

1982 Porsche 911SC.

Thank God I had the whale tail. The car really hunkered down well while passing 120 mph.

Modified GS-R - 7700 rpm (digital readout), 19.7 mph/1000 rpm in 5th, 151.7 mph. Reasonably flat ground (slight undulations), 2000 ft altitude. Speedo only goes to 150 and was reading well past it.

Modified CRX - 6900 rpm (actually read 7100-7200, but is known to read high on the dyno), 22.7 mph/1000 rpm in 5th, 156.6 mph. Flat ground, 1000 ft altitude. Speedo only goes to 120, thought I was going to break the needle.

Going to take the latter to a sanctioned, closed course top speed event later this year if possible. Speedos are so inaccurate at high speeds and even the tach isn't accurate enough for a true measurement. Also, its tough to be sure you're on totally flat ground unless you're on a lakebed (or in Kansas :-).
