Everyone should know that Toshiba sold machine tools to the
Soviets during the 80's. The tools allowed the USSR to make
their sub propellers MUCH quieter . This was a large setback to
American and NATO Soviet sub detection.

It was a very treacherous act.

thanks for that tidbit of info!

I have a toshiba 16x9 36" CRT. I love it...I cringe every time I use a standard TV. I spoiled myself.

I have a Toshiba 65H80. Yours should be a good purchase. Toshibas are known as the workhorses of home theater, and the 65" is about as big as you can get with any manufacturer's rear projection model. I see the 65HDX82 now offers 720p, which is cool. My model only does 480p or 1080i. Be sure to look into having the set calibrated by an ISF professional. The best way to find one is through recommendations on the Home Theater forums. Are you getting DirecTV, and have you decided on a HD satellite receiver? I've found OTA high definition is not as exciting as I thought it was, so I'm glad I got DirecTV and HBO HD.

I hope you have a plan for how it will be installed in your house, because moving it up or down stairs is a major pain in the ass. My 65H80 weighs about 413 pounds in stock form. You can lose about about 30% of the weight through disassembly, but the box is still big and very heavy. Three of us were able to move it one floor upstairs, and it nearly killed us. Also, once it's been disassembled, a calibration is DEFINITELY needed.

Well there is one difference, the arlines did not know (perhaps they shoud have)
the persons in question were terrorists.

The Toshiba execs knew exactly what they were doing.
