Default Tuner Transformation

It's a new Show that reminds me of Rides, American Choppers, and Monster Garage mixed. But it's all about imports. Three guys and One shop. One does Motor, another does Suspension and the last does body work. They take various plain imports and transform them into the dreams of the owner.

Last week they took some geek (who happened to be into drifting) 1989 Nissan 240 and flipped it into a JDM Drift car. I mean the thing looked like a 250,000 mile, 140 hp, heap of crap when they started. And when they were done, you wouldn't even know it was the same car. They did a Silvia front end conversion, DOHC SR20 Twin turbo swap, wide body, and some 18' wheels. I gotta admit, the outcome wasn't that bad.

Tonight is an all new episode. The car is a bone stock RX-8. If they did wonders with that heap pile, I can only imagine what they do to this RX-8.

The Show is "Tuner Transformation" and it air's tonight at 7:00 p.m. on Speed Channel.

Actually, now that I read the site, it looks like the RX-8 episode was the first one and it looks like it sucked!.
I mean vinyl graphics down the side? WTF? At least the Drift Silvia was pretty cool.

I wouldn't mind having my car as their project. I think it's all free too, for lucky viewers. Maybe I should apply.

I just saw the VW gti transformation tonight. I think it was a chip reflash, intake, rims, drop, and graphics.

This was the first episode I've seen and the car looked like crap w/ the graphics they added.

same here i saw that gti too, the thing looked worse coming out of there than it did when it came in.
The 240sx was pretty decent though.

Blech,

I hated the formulaic show... suspension guy is a geeky nerd, engine guy is normal, cosmetic guy is a lazy loud mouth slob. Talk about your odd couple formula. Oh, and don't forget to throw in the mandatory import asian chick trying to act all excited during the show.

I should apply for the show, maybe I'll get a supercharger, but more than likely I'll walk away with some ugly fender graphics and a stupid touring wing.
