Default TV Tuners????

Is it better to hook up top brand tv tuner on your PC to play PS2 games or get a nice TV set??? I was wandering because I was shopping for a new TV set when my friend suggested to me that it might be better and cheaper to go with TV Tuner rather than buying a new TV....What you guys think???

Dunno about you but my PC is in the study and the TV is in the lounge. Last thing I want to do is come in to my study and boot up my PC if I want to watch TV.

I work with PC TV Tuner cars all the time. I find that the picture quality of the cards are not that great, when viewed on a PC screen. The problem with watching any type of TV signal on a PC has to do with the way a PC signal and a TV isgnal are displayed. A PC signal is non-interlaced, which means every frame has information for every horizontal line on the screen. A TV signal is interlaced, which means each frame only has odd or even lines of information. Becasue of this, you only have 1/2 the information from a TV signal when trying to display it on a PC monitor. There are many tricks that can be used to remedy this, but in my opinion, it just makes the TV signal look really blurry on a PC monitor.
