uh, a thought just came to me. want to give your input/thought/opinion?
So Honda (or Acura) already has given the car mags a 2002 RSX (next generation Integra) to play with. They gave them all the specs except for price.
Honda (or Acura) also has given lots of info regarding the 2003 NSX. Haven't read my AUTOMOBILE yet, so I'm not sure exactly what they've got.
So why hasnt Honda released any information on the 2002 s2000, even if it's to just say there won't be one? Marketing? Some sort of strategy?
I can understand the NSX, I'm sure there's lots of anticipation and they just want to make sure people still want supercars. The RSX, well, it's new. So I guess they need to gauge consumer opinion too. The s2000, I'm assuming, will be largely unchanged. But is that the only reason why they'll be waiting till fall to release any info?
hm.. what do you guys think?

I think changes will be minimal. Blue for the US, tweeters and a sub as options (as noted by handa-accessories.com), maybe a GPS option, like Japan's S2k, but other than that, I wouldn't think there would be a 2.2litre, or any type of increase in anyway. This wouldnt' be optimal for the still-new S2k (even though its been outf for a few years) to change major components. This would take away the spotlight from their other two that you mentioned: NSX and RSX - even though they are branded (to Americans) as Acura - its till one company: Honda.
/my two cents.

Why should they release any info on the MY2002 S2K yet? Until you see official info from Honda, everything you hear and read is just a rumor. All the carryover model info gets released in the fall. All-new cars often get marketed off-schedule to avoid getting lost in the new year model info overload &/or b/c they're ready to sell & don't want to wait.
I'll bet there are several folks from Honda who just love reading all the speculation and anxiety on this board!

Actually, while they've released some info about the RSX, the '02 models are going to go on sale very soon anyway.
There actually has been zero word on what the new NSX will be like. I've heard both V6 and V8 rumors, 4.0L and 3.5L, $150k and $55k. The possible year of introduction is unknown, too.
Honda are always tight about info on their new products.

Something about a GPS option feels very contrary to the design and execution of the car. It's all very minimalist and race car inspired. I guess they might as well throw in heated seats (no offense Tedster if you read this) and headlight timers while their at it.
