Thumbs up The Unit

I just caught the latest episode where the Unit went through SEAR training and thought it was pretty damn good. I was wanting to catch the show from the begining but was only able to start with this episode.

Your thoughts?? Good, Bad, indifferent???

I have seen a couple and found it watchable but I could take it or leave it. I like the premise, but not the execution.

I think it's AWESOME (nah, not really). I think the producers WANT to do a great thing for the military (sort of) by doing a show about Delta Force, but it comes off as comical.

Comical? Heck yeah -

1st episode: Airliner hijacked by terrorists in Idaho...National Guard "assault team" receives 20 round burst from an Uzi and all die. Team Leader goes into National Guard command post looking for volunteers and says, "I need some help - someone show me a Ranger tab."

Last week: On the way to kill an important terrorist, helicopter crashes, then bad guys mortar crash site. Looks like it was filmed in someone's backyard.

Latest episode: SERE training goes wrong...horribly wrong. "Bring out the electric shock paddles...we'll get them to break!" says the Glenn Close wannabe.

Ah, and to top it all off, the Boss (played by Robert Patrick) is having an affair with one of the team member's wives...

Show could be great (really, the cast isn't bad at all)...just not as it is currently written.

I like it, but I hate how they all of a sudden cut to a commerical or different scene at the worst possible moment. Very poor editing...

You people need to remember this is a entertaiment show not a reality show. In that context, I think it's a pretty entertaining show and I like it.

24 is WAY more entertaining. that jonna character needs to go back to 24 and play a resurrected president palmer.
