My understanding based on readings here is to NEVER, ever ship from the US to Canada via UPS or FedEx for just this reason. Use the regular postal service instead.

Is that accurate?

It might be

when i ordered some parts from a dealer in Canada and they arrived at my door UPS said i owed like a $25 brokerage fee i was like wtf. Really wanted my parts so just paid. When i called the dealer to inquire they said they usually ship stuff out postal or go thru a 3rd party trucking company to avoid having customers brokerage fees. So whenever i order parts from them i always ask to get my stuff shipped however possible with avoiding brokerage fees

I think FEDEX is a lot cheaper than UPS, but I always use USPS myself. My sister's never had to pay extra for anything I've sent.

I dunno, if UPS keeps using this driver, I'll be ordering a lot of stuff...
