Vanderbilt? Dude, you are seriously lost and on the wrong thread. I suppose next you are going to tell us that Hixson, Tennessee is the intellectual and cultural capital of the US.
It looks like you are out numbered. You are not going to win this argument anyway. I might as well give you a little help.
I did not graduate from either school. However, I did go to USC and live across the street from the coliseum (yes, I went to every home game). I also did pick USC over UCLA because of certain area of academics.
I'm sure all those trojan fans are just busting your chops. I happen to think both school are of the same level of exellence.
Here is a list of what it takes to get into those school....
UCLA
1. good grades, or if you happen to know someone who works there
2. good scores or if you can run real fast
3. luck (especially if you are asian....good luck)
USC
1. good grades or if your daddy and grand daddy went to SC
2. good scores or if you run real fast and you aren't afraid of south central LA
3. lots of money....why did you think I transferred?
But I gotta tell you UCLA football team sucks......we beat you 3 times in the bowl game in the last decade, including 2 rose bowls (now you can make that educated guess)
So what's UCLA good for? Business school and law school...
What's USC goof for? Engineering school and film school...
Fighting over which school is better is just silly.....
...just be glad that your school doesn't have a TREE as mascot.
THAT would be embarrassing.

be realistic at least :-)
Ok, i don't sell the USC band short at all, they're a heck of lot more talented than most other bands in the country.

Well UCLA also has a very good film school. If you majored in film and didn't go to UCLA, USC or NYU, then you might as well have mastered in basketweaving.
I actually almost went to USC. I signed a letter of intent and then realized i could get a better education for a third the price accross town. (I had a measly 10K scholarship to sc, but no financial aid)
We'll never agree, except on one thing:
That damn tree is the WORST mascot in college sports.
