vacation tips to europe
I've always enjoyed Paris and a number of people have hit on it's highlights. If you can arrange it I would suggest going to the Effiel Tower at dusk, it's worth it to see the sunset and watch the city light up. Especially if you are traveling with a significant other.
I also enjoy Sacre Couer, it has an art district behind it which is alot of fun to walk through and see some of the local independant artists selling their work on the street.
If youre in town for a few days taking a trip out to Versailles is worth it.

looking to spend about 2 to 3 days in each city and possibly adding venice, zurich, or geneva.
what's the preferred method of travel between countries?
any cost cutting hints?
memorable places to see, eat, shop?
any other advice that you wished someone could have given to you prior to visiting.
TIA.

for those that have taken the train, how comfortable are they for overnight trips?
i'm probably going to purchase a eurorail pass for france-italy. if it's an overnight trip does it count for one day or two?

OVernight counts as one day. The seats recline so you can sleep. I just went regular class but if you go high they have sleeping carts. Even with some of the extreme prices those have on them they see out quickly.
