Default A very bad idea

This website is scary: http://www.hicksairbagcovers.com/

Fake airbag covers.

Not only doing what they suggest is unsafe, I'm pretty sure it's illegal. Interesting choice of car for the banner on the top of the page. I'll skip the Alabama jokes.

BTW: They don't even stock the S2000 version of their product...

that's ed up.... I don't know if that's legal either. I would hate for someone to think that they are buying a car with an airbag, and realize that they have one of those products on their wheel when they slam into a wall at 40 miles an hour.

Considering what I and several others on the board are going through/went through regarding airbag cutoff switches, you need special permission by the NHTSA (Feds) to put a kill switch in your car. The NHTSA generally does not grant permission to disable airbags permanently.

The web site above had me worried, since they are claiming this is a way of having their customers save thousands in repair costs.

Well, no crap. There's no airbags in there, that's why.

That is really messed up that a company can get away with a product such as this.
Now granted, i did put an aftermarket wheel in my civic that got rid of my driver-side airbag... however that was by my personal choice, i knew what i was getting myself into and any future owner will know that the airbag obviously isnt there. however this is just wrong
