Unhappy Is this a virus?

I have McAfee Virus scan and this comes up as a "Potentially unwanted program" everytime. I have quarantined it everytime yet it stays on my computer. The program name is: Proxy-OSS.dll.

Ever since I have been getting this on my virus scan, my computer freezes up during AIM's or sending e-mail. How do I get rid of it and get my computer back to normal. It's been like this for about 6-8 months now!!

I haven't seen any spyware software that gets rid of .dll files. Check Microsoft to see if there is a fix for Proxy-OSS.dll

I had that ossproxy.exe, i also have msbb.exe and a couple of other programs i need to get rid of.
I started to get all of these when i downloaded a DVD player program from www.download.com. I believe these freeware/sharewares have spyware attached to them. So get rid of them asap. Im still not sure how to get rid of these but im going to get someone to check my comp for me. I tried going to //c:windows/system32 and deleting them but it might not always work.

I already used the spyware and removed all potential issues, but this still remains. I'm afraid if I delete it manually, I will create a bigger problem. Gonna check out Microsoft now.

Just be careful doing that ples, many of these pricks make their file names very similar to legitimate files and deleting the wrong one can be very damaging.

Yeah, and I just checked out Microsoft and the only way for them to help with support is by paying $35 for them to answer a freakin e-mail that may or may not help!!!

The latest Mcafee AV gets rid of it apparently. Have you tried searching for it on your HD?

Apparently it is packaged from marketscore.com with a prog that is supposed to speed up your internet. BTW carefull going to that site its pop up city

It also wouldn't let me access on my other pc when using firefox or IE with google bar etc. saying that I need to enable cookies. Have you been to this site before? Seems like its to me
