scored some tickets through work! just as nice, get to hit the NFL party tonight!! and their tailgate party tomorrow....should rock!! Can't wait, I couldnt sleep last night!

 

I fell bad about Detroit as a city. They have so little hope about things they talk as if the super bowl is going to turn the city around. When it was here in San Diego we knew it was important, but it was nothing that was going to turn us into a major economic hub. I have some relatives who came from Detroit. All they talk about is how the blacks f'ed up the city over the years. Really racist stuff. I guess they forgot how blacks were denied loans to keep them out of the burbs. Really sad situation there. The demise of the American automotive industry hurts this single industry city.

Their temporary cleanup is just that too. As soon as the glitz of the bowl is gone Detroit will just go back to what it was. One of the temporary shops was broken in to and just the high ticket leather NFL jackets were stolen...luckily the guy was insured, but his comment on the local news tells the whole truth...."I guess it's just the cost of doing business in downtown Detroit." He has another store in the suburbs. As soon as his temporary lease/license is expired he's out of there.
