waiting time M3
My wife
just called and said she was at the local BMW dealer and asked about the new M3 (knew of my passion for it) and he replied waiting time for the coupe is about 1 year but the convertible is available in August. So my question is why? I would expect the opposite.
God I love having a wife who digs cars

According to BMW website the coupe has 18 more hp than the convertible...... hmmm I wonder why.

(Although the unofficial word I got is there's a difference in the exhaust systems.)
I think you can get a convertible sooner because... they are heavier, slower, $7k-8K more expensive, etc........
I *had* desired a M3, but i would never sell both of my cars for one -3,415lbs doesn not sound "flickable"
. They are $50k for a mildly optioned version.
YA, that must be cool having a wife who digs cars!

Just sat in the Laguna Seca Blue demo that our local dealer got in. Of course, it isn't really a demo but it is on the showroom floor, not for sale. It is a very, VERY sweet car, but I just am a little skeptical about the car's weight. I mean that is almost 100lb more than a 996TT.
My friend who owns several BMW's including a '98 4 door M3 was first in line for a 2001 M3. After driving it he is not sure if he wants the new one. He said it feels heavy and wallows a bit. Plus it is $53000. I think BMW is trying too hard to mass market the M cars. Plus where we live everyone thinks you must work at the plant if you drive one. I'll keep my exclusive S2000.......
