Wal-Mart Stole my Debit Card!
So I'm buying some household supplies on my, lunch break and in somewhat of a hurry. I decide to go through self-checkout which I personally do not see the value of. Anyway, I scan and put my crap in the bag on the scale, whip out my trusty debit card...and bam!! It slips out of my hand and falls perfectly down the milimeters wide crack between the wall and their heavy duty scale. At this point I'm thinking...this is why I don't go through self ckeck out!!
Well, they were trying figure how to get it out from behind this scale which is bolted to the floor and I'm thinking this is going to take some significant de-construction efforts. So I give them my business card and go off on my way. Hopefully I will not have to through the pain of canceling the card, but I doubt it.
Does this type of crap ever happen to anyone else?

Well, the first thing you need to do is report that card lost - its not a credit card or insured, its tied to your bank account.
In my experience, self-checkout takes longer and is more cumbersome.

My debit card and driver's license last Thursday night somewhere and the banks and license depot were closed Friday so I couldn't go replace them. I received a Facebook message on Friday from a guy who had been trying to track me down in the phonebook and online!
What a good guy, I picked them up that afternoon.

The EXACT same thing actually happened to me about a year ago, except it was the Wal-Mart cashier that dropped the card. It took them about 20 minutes to fish the card out, but I finally got it back.
