Speaking of tuner movies. I don't know how many people are from HK, but they can probably tell you this HK movie (Legend of Speed 2) about a battle between EVO vs STi. It came out like in the mid 90's, so the filming quality is not that good compared to what we're used to. But on the other hand, pick a US movie from the mid 90's and is not that much better.

Anyways, it's got good plot/story line, plus the race scene are pretty good. There are parts (part 1, part 2....) floating around youtube. If you're lucky, you might get one in subtitles.

 

I have all the old episodes of that old Wangan series from the late 80s and early 90s. Only the first couple of episodes were alright.

 

I just watched teh trailer again - at the intro when they show the Z before "restore" its a damn 2+2... LOL.

 

I thought the Wangan Midnight anime is current stuff. Have one more subtitiled episode to go. So this is all based on an old movie from the 80's?

I have that Legend of Speed DVD, and it's a pretty good movie.

I have it somewhere and its subtitled. I graduated from UCI in 2002 during the import boom, that's probably enough said. =) I will look for it.

I hope someone subtitles this new Wangan movie.

some impressions:

1. a couple of those actors smoke WAY too much - their lips & skin are darkened in a way only heavy smoking asians would have it.

2. the one older chick looked like she was in a child's seat sitting in that blue Sparco seat - it was way too big for her small size.

3. the GTR looked like it was an R34 on the initial shot but the second shot where it's racing the yellow ferrari it looked like an R33. R34 would've been the wrong period (came out in the winter of '98, i was in tokyo for my honeymoon when they unveiled it).
