There is a thread about the lawyer suing Nabisco for not telling people about their trans fat content. It has made me think about other stupid warnings. You know, the warnings found on products that when you read them you feel stupider for doing so. I say lets take off these warnings and weed out the population.

Please give your examples.

Mine: The statement on razor blade boxes that say Caution-sharp edges.

On the back of a sun shade for the windshield-Remove before driving vehicle.

I think its great and I hope that the FDA starts putting lables on things with high trans-fat content. There are too many fat stupid people out there who are a real drain on the healthsystem of this country and need things spelled out for them ....this is bad for you if you eat a lot of it, if you ignore this you will get chest pain, shortness of breath and heart attacks.

I was in Tokyo a few weeks ago. While standing in line at the airport I was looking at one of those "SARS masks" from over this guys shoulder. In tiny blue letters printed on the mask, the phrase "this mask will not protect your lungs" was printed.

Go figure

Warning seen in supermarket: Posted by law in all supermarkets.
Consumption of swordfish, tilefish or shark may be hazardous to your health due to mercury content. Women, pregnant women or women that may become pregnant, small children and the elderly should limit their consumption of the above to 6 oz per week.
Shrimp and other seafoods contain sulfites that may be hazardous to your health. Women, pregnant women, women that may become pregnant, small children, the elderly and those that have allergic reactions to sulfites should not consume this product.

Notice that men and pets aren't mentioned? OK. Who do we sue? Why isn't it posted on menus and on restaurant walls? If it's that bad, it'll be just as bad after it's cooked! I think it might be bad for busniess if you sell seafood. Sounds like a lawsuit trying to happen.

"Warning you will be killed or hurt if you open..."

Well, for a while we contemplated the following for our product lines:

"Do not use to make noodles or any items intended to be ingested" - paper shredder

"Do not use to iron baby doll clothing" - laminator

"Do not use on leather belts" - electric hole punch

I'm serious - we get the most freaky consumer support calls!

The world is full of stupid people as well as stupid lawyers who prey on the stupid people so at to where there is not sence of personal responsibility.

There was a lawsuit I heard of where a person who had chronic back pain was prescribed strong sustained release narcotic (one pill lasts 12 hours). Well the idiot crushed them and snorted them. WHile under the influence he killed someone with his car. He then proceded to sue the doctor siting that he was not told not to crush and snort the pills.

I personally feel that the constitution should be amended to seriously punish frivolity and stupidity.

There is a label on armor all products that says Do not use on tread of tires. or something like that.

They all mean that sometime in the past, some nut said to his wife, "insert stupid phrase here".
