Mike you picked all but one
Yes you were one off - but that is because they know of your presence on the board

Be happy and make the most.

Two grand would be great any time - you can mail it to me if you are that un-happy with your winnings j/k

That's a very common saying. On average, lottery players are worse off. It's just that the trouble with averages is that nobody is average.

If you buy a lottery ticket and lose, the impact is effectively zero. Who's going to miss the cost? If you win on the other hand, the impact is huge. It's a very lopsided equation.

So, you have a very large chance of nothing at all happening (positive or negative) and a miniscule chance of making it seriously big. I'll take that miniscule chance now and then.

There are all kinds of examples of this kind of thing in nature. Animals (including humans) will take big chances where the potential rewards are great, even if the average outcome is negative. The negative outcomes just don't have a significant evolutionary pressure, but the rare positive ones do.

So since no one has asked....how did you pick those numbers. If it wasn't a quick pick, what made you pick the number 47 and not the number 46?

I know pondering over this will not make things better for you...in fact, I imagine the $1500-$2000 winnings will be even more bitter-sweet, but hey thems the brakes.

I actually want to congratulate you on having the luck in picking so many numbers that hit the nail on the head....you are the only person I know that has hit such a high percentage of lotto numbers.

Actually it came to $6.38

As for the numbers, there was no reasoning behind it, I just started ticking off nubers, I was 1/64th of an inch from picking the other number. I went down to the office today, and it seems alot of people had 5 numbers so I won 1280 bucks. I gotta admit it was kinda nice to get the check, but it makes really no difference in the scheme of things...10 mill on the other hand

and as for my presence on the board?? well you think they would have taken pity on me based on the hair alone..."Poor guy, lets get him cleaned up!"

Lets just say going to work today was kind of a drag

Damn you're the only person I know that got that close to winning a lottery. During the last big CA lottery, I only got 2 numbers and the bonus. I won $10, which would be about $2500 CDN
