Your thoughts on them as an employer? I just got a call for an interview in Knoxville which Im stoked about. However, I've heard some nay-sayers about the company and just wondered if anyone here had first-hand experience with them? This is likely for insurance-sales and not a bank teller/collections person. Thanks! Im trying to do as much homework on them as I can before my interview on the 25th!

They are the very definition of a "big bank." Meaning, they have blind policies that the robots are required to follow to the letter. As a small business owner, I refuse to work with them.

I have both Wellsfargo and Citibank accounts.
They have taken pretty good care of me so far. I have a liaison in each bank that take care of my business needs. So far I have no complaints.
in your experience, have the smaller banks taken better care of small business?

I had a group interview for a personal banker position with them some time ago and most of what I saw said to expect long hours, demanding sales quotas, and a maddening bureaucracy. That might sound great to some, but for the amount the position paid, not to me.

I have a friend who works for them in IT and likes it. He is told that Well Fargo is one of the more sound big banks.

His group finished a very large IT project a few years ago and WF paid to send to whole department to a week at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. I doubt you can count on perks like that in this environment.

He also gets something like a half point of whatever the current rate is one mortgages as an employee.

but the bigger the company, the harder it is to show off your talents. make sure when you go above and beyond, your boss(es) know it and you'll do fine. if you don't, its easy get lost in a sea of faces in a big company.

I work for a division of WF and have no real complaints... Decent pay, full benefits, solid vacation/PTO schedule, etc.. It certainly is the definition of a "big bank" but thats about all ive ever worked for so it doesnt bother me in the slightest.

Feel free to PM me directly if you have any specific questions and i'll try to help as best I can.
