While many are complaining about the barbaric Americans and their allies, the Nobel Prize for physics was quietly awarded to two Americans and a German for discovering... a new state of matter.

Aside from the attractive imagery of making the most basic physical elements sing harmoniously together against the background of the cacophany of war, I believe that it is profoundly important contributions like this that make our way of life worth defending.
