Default What Cha Doin This Weekend?

I started playing a lot of golf this summer and have not really taken the stook out for a spirited drive in a while. With no tee times scheduled, I think I'm gonna pack up the wife and head out to the mtns on Sunday--maybe do a couple of runs on Mesa Grande. Mesa Grande is a couple of miles of tight switchbacks in the Cuyamaca Mountains northeast of San Diego. It's always been wide-open the times I've been--except the one time I saw about 100 Miatas. Fortunately, they were all going the other way.

What are YOU doing?

I'm going to go test drive the new Lexus ES300 on 3 autocross courses against their competition (BMW, Acura, Mercedes and a Volvo). Da Hapa is also joining me for the event. Should be a blast. Too bad they won't let us take our S2Ks on the course.

I predict you will choose the BMW or Acura as best, depending on the models. I just got done driving all of those in my quest to find a sedan. (Well, not the ES300, the IS300, but still).

Easy, when you finish the test drive, you and DeHapa jump in one Stook. As you are driving towards the start of the course, start faking an argument--like you're both confused about how to get out of the place. This will distract the starter as he'll focus more on the argument and less on the fact that you are approaching the starting gate. He'll also be less likely to interrupt you to tell you to go somewhere else if he sees you're really pissed at each other. As soon as it's clear, hit the accelerator and drive to your hearts delight. Be careful of the blue-hairs in the ES300 in front of you though.

Let me know if it works. (Man, I must be bored to make stuff like that).

Good idea, I'll make sure to choose the twistiest one out of the 3 courses. If this doesn't work, maybe Da Hapa can baet up the starter. I hear he's one big scary shaven mo-fo hawaiian dude.

Installing Rick's aeroscreen, Mingster's dead pedal, and speaker upgrades (Sony XS-V1631s), plus maybe doing a little more Zaino on the spook. I'm feeling a little under the weather, so I'm staying home, but I'm not so sick I can't work on my car a little.
