Spanish. The suck part about it like other languages, is that it never sounds like it is taught as endings are left off, slang, etc. There should be a more "street credible" version offered. Kinda like Robin Williams' character in "Saving Pvt. Ryan" - "I would like to buy some cheese and some butter" <- totally useless crap. Teach me something useful so I can understand wtf is being said day to day...

Ebonics would be handy for you haha jk
Chinese would be the one I'd pick.

i've found spanish to be pretty useful. not only can you understand/communicate with the mexicans (and s. america, but i haven't been there before), but also the spanish. not too hard to learn either.

if you want a challenge, try chinese. not only do you have to speak and write (pinyin, which is like using the english alphabet), you also have to memorize drawing...each character is different. many times they're made of smaller characters, but you can't figure out how to say them unless someone tells you first. good times.

in college i took ASL american sign language, cuz i thought it was gonna be easy (no written work) turns out i did badly in it because i never really practiced (same thing happened in greek art). i have also taken spanish for 8 years and it is pretty easy for me now. i can understand conversational spanish and can read just about anything.

Scot seems awfully concerned about what people say about him in languages he doesn't understand.

I say cooking is the right idea! I would love to take a cooking class and I will soon.
