Default What Did You Do Yesterday

I've spoken to a lot of people today. They all say the same thing. Yesterday was a total loss for work, unshakeable depression, disorientation, no motivation or focus, could only watch TV and watch those horrifying pictures over and over again, cancelled all appointments.

I personally was sick to my stomach all day and had no appetite. I went from the gym (where I saw the two towers take hits) to work, heard about the first tower collapsing on the radio on the way in, saw the second tower collapse on a small TV at work, tried to work for awhile, went home and watched the big screen for a couple of hours, said "oh, hell" when the cleaning lady came in to clean the den and went back to work, tried to work, mostly read and participated on this board (very therapeutic), gave up and went home again to the big screen. I can't remember being this screwed up for a long, long time.

How about you guys out there?

I practically watched CNN, CNBC, FOX, etc the whole day. I was glued to it. I even stayed up late last night and woke up early this morning to watch some more. I occasionally checked the board to read other people's reaction as well. Throughout the day I had to break to Zaino my car, go for a little drive, and play PS2. I had to do those things to take my mind off this horrific event. It's very intense following the news as it unfolded.

Since all the news on the TV in the office was in Japanese I was sat at my desk reading about things on the internet (CNN & BBC) and posting messages on this board.....

I certainly could not concentrate on work.....

I sat in sick horror most of the day watching the events unfold. I left for a while, still unable to get my mind off of it. I finally went to bed about 2, slept fitfully until about 5:45, finally giving up and going to the corner store to buy a newspaper. I was one of 6 waiting for the store to open to buy newspapers, all of us looking sad and tired.

I put my American flag up in front of my house yesterday and worry again for domestic and foreign-based military members...

I was awakened at 8:30 a.m. by a phone call telling me about the tragedy. I pretty much watched CNN and some of the local news channels all day yesterday. I didn't even get on-line, but was just glued to the TV set. Reminded me of what I did during the LA riots.

The first thing I do after I shower, etc., is check the market on my computer. No market? WTH? Check another source--markets closed because of World Trade Center disaster. Go turn on TV--ohmygod!

I'm not the type to slow down and check out accidents or exhibit other signs of morbid behavior, but I was mesmerized by the horror that unfolded on the TV. Lots of other things I wanted/needed to do, but let them slide. Going to a dance lesson or installing my Playstation 2 seemed frivilous and somehow disrespectful.

Discovered late in the evening that there was a forum on this site. That would probably have been therapeutic, but by that late I was wiped out emotionally and in no mood to express myself. Went to bed hoping that rescue operations could start and some could be saved.

Today's news not very encouraging, I'm afraid, especially with the threat of 1 Liberty Plaza collapsing and the necessity to cut back rescue operations that new threat caused. The reality, I suspect, is that the terror is not going to play itself out for many days and that we may never really know the total impact of this barbarous act.

I was physically sick yesterday so I stayed home from work. I did wake up to watch the events taking place and slept on and off all day. In between naps, I watched the news. Yesterday was just a weird day because I was sick to my stomach(literally) and depressed and angry, etc...I'm pretty sick again today and numb about what's happened. Hopefully I'll be able to snap out of it soon.

I logged on for work (from home) got an email asking people tp pray for DC and NYC, and so my day began...

Turned on the TV at 740am and turned it off at 1230am after midnight. Did some answering of calls, but business activity was light. I was emotionally wiped out by last night. Shock, fear, anger all at once.
Did run errands...like buy food for dinner, but other than that, spent time on this forum and watching the events of the lifetime.

I hope we can get over this soon cause I'm zonked today too.
