You guys are lucky that you get coffee in the office. Our cheap ass company has eliminated ALL "frills".

We have to go across the street to the local deli to get a cup.
What's funny is that they're probably losing more in productivity by forcing people to leave the office for coffee than they're saving.

its sad not everyone can work in the silicon valley. google has figure this out a long time ago. they provide food and drinks for all employees and even their friends, all for free. it makes perfect sense tho. if you have a bunch of workers making over 50 dollars an hour, the company actually saves money, if the workers only spend half an hour eating and not driving around. it keeps the high paid workers on campus. i am convinced there is a high correlation between caffiene input and software productivity.

You can pour them all into one cup and put it in the fridge. Then next day add some chocolate mix and sirup and you have yourself a premium ice latte drink. Or just give that to your co-worker...

That's how it was (maybe still is) done in Au bon pain. They empty all leftover coffee into a plastic bucket; throw it in a fridge overnight; add some milk, sirup and chocolate mix next morning - and sell it as mocha chill at $3 for 16oz. Nuts...

That's crazy...but not unheard of...I wouldn't be surprised if any other coffee place does that...

I tried to argue the point...they say since we're salaried, productivity doesn't really matter, they'll get the work they want out of you regardless of how long it takes.

Truly old world mentality at work in this company. Sad thing is, our main business is setting fashion trends

Perhaps your co-worker was just talking about the fact you have 4 paper cups on your desk just from one day - So what do you go thru, like 20-25 paper cups a week? That is a waste.

Get a mug and keep refilling it, or just refill one paper cup a day. The coffee, well that's just water filtered thru beans. Dump it into the ficus in your office.
