why the kidding me. timeshare rented for next to nothing FTW. I heard this place has some historical stuff to it. google is no good to use when your looking for things to do from local peoples experience. using google just makes you like everyone else, you do the same stuff every other tourist would. also have to remember the baby part.

holy boring.... you can watch those goofy Fife drummers or whatever they are called in historical Williamsburg... then drive to Jamestown or some other boring place and look at cannonballs lodged into the side of the buildings...zzzzzzzzzz....

Enjoy.... LoL.....

When you say, "help a guy out please," it conveys to me that you have ZERO clue, which clearly isn't the case. Open-ended questions get open-ended answers. The way you phrased the question, I thought maybe you were looking to score smack while the wife and kid were sleeping. Or worse, you had heard from somebody that they had a "great time" in Williamsburg, and assumed it was better than Vegas, Tijuana, or Bozeman, MT. Ask a car forum, get a car forum answer.

Speaking of asking a car forum, if you want local advice, ask the locals! Asking in Off-Topic is telling the lot of us quite a bit.

Yes, it's boring, but I like my fair chunk of history too. I was there YEARS ago. The buildings and sites were worthwhile. There was an old tyme inn (probably one of several) where I had a nice game stew, and I caught the best/worst concert I've ever seen (best - Bach Violin Sonatas/worst - the violinist couldn't keep her instrument in tune). Everything was cheap, and I bought every ridiculous souvenir I could afford. The nice thing I did get was a folio of Early American composers, and a tin whistle made with a wood chiff.

It's not my thing; but I get where you're coming from. . .

There again, Google and Yelp are always one pathway to adventure. . . try the Newport at the 415 grill and let me know how it is.

This formula always works for shitty historical towns (including kids and wife):

1.) Eat out and heavy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
2.) After breakfast, take wife to antique store and buy her antique jewelry piece. After this eat lunch
3.) Return to hotel and tell wife to put kid down for nap and tell her to take a nap also to get her rest because you have a nice dinner planned. While they are asleep, find bar and drink and watch sports for 2-3 hours
4.) Return to hotel, relax a little bit, get ready and head out for dinner. Make wife eat big heavy dinner, leave for hotel and have her go to bed.
5.) Return to bar for drinking and sports on TV.
6.) Repeat this process every day.
