Love the V8s! I don't think Ford V8s sound anything like GM engines though, no 5.0 (or 4.6 for that matter) I've ever heard sounds hollow. Some LS1s don't sound so hot with certain exhausts (still good, just not jaw dropping great), kinda tinny. ELS1, that cammed LS1 is kinda what I'm talking about. Do you have a clip of it not idling? I bet it sounds a little better at WOT!

All Ferrari V8s sounds pretty good too but those are just a little different than the V8s ELS1's talking about I think.

Personally, I think most I4s sound like crap with or without exhaust kits on them. Even the S doesn't give me chills like some V8s do. JMHO.

Just got back from riding in my friend's Mustang GT (2001), and I love that sound, a nice grunt, although it's a loud car..

 

personally, i can't stand the sound of american muscle.

 

the V8 rumble is too loud for me, whereas the hum of ferrari's are a totally different story.

 

Yea but nothing gets your attention like the sound of a v8 comin up on your ass.

 

I love the V8 rumble - it's very primal, raw, and brutal sounding. Throw a supercharger on top and it's absolutely music to my ears.
