How do I feel about the law? The same as the helmet law, always wear it, but we don't need a law.

First off, I'm glad that your son came through okay.

Secondly, I think that your saying that I quoted above should be a national slogan.

I can understand the logic behind both sides of this issue(and the similar mandatory helmet law). The bottom line is that some people don't have the common sense to wear one, while others have strong feelings one way or the other. The government is just trying to promote safety on our highways a minimize the cost associated with auto injuries.

The other thing to put into consideration are the EMERGENCY WORKERS that put their life on the line everytime they are called. Sometimes these AMBULANCES get in their own accidents and LIFEFLIGHT Helicopters crash while in route. If we could minimize their number of calls, we'll be doing everyone a favor.

This also affects everybody who drives by and gets distracted with their curiosity. How many accidents have you seen happen near the original accident site? If the people involved in accidents weren't injured as bad while wearing their seatbelt(helmet), the accident scene can be cleared up and life would get back to normal sooner.

Here is Texas' campaign brochure and logo.
