What is the healthiest fast food joint?
ok, so i am sick of spending about $15 on lunch a day every day for the last 5 years and i will not brownbag it. i am looking to budget and try to get my lunch expenditures down to about $5-$7. McDonald's and Crack in da box is out of the question for a regular place. i find taco bell to be ok depending on what you order.
lets see, 15 a day for 5 days a week is $75 x 4 a month is $300. OUCH.
ok dudes, help me save money and not go hungry yet not get any kidney problems. lets see what you guys can suggest.

I was sort of in the same boat as you. I got pissesd when I realized that spending $10 a day on lunch turned out to be $2,400 A YEAR!!!
Now I bring a Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine meal and heat it up in the microwave at work. They're usually around $3.25 or so and the stores often have them on sale at half price.
Like you, I don't want to do the fast food thing either, that's a heart attack waiting just to happen.
The only other suggestion I could make is maybe the salads at Wendy's. Their spinich salad is pretty good and at a reasonable price.

My work has a cafeteria. I usually hit up the salad and sandwitch bars and do bring my own lunch 1/2 the time. Sometimes the asian cuisine isn't too unhealthy and I'll have that about once a week.
Probably subway is the best bet but that can get old. You really do need to cook your own food to expand your options for healthy food. When I cook, I cook enough for 3 or 4 meals.
When you are eating lunch tomorrow, imagine what it would be like to be having salmon instead...and at a price of $5.

almost any fast food place can be "healthy" depending on what you order. even at McD's you can order a premium grilled classic chicken sandwich without mayo or a premium grilled chicken ranch blt sandwich with an iced tea and maybe a salad, and that will be far from being unhealthy and cost you around $5-7. another stragtegy is to look for smaller, hole-in-the-wall, type restuarants where you can generally find decent food for no more than $7.

What is your aversion to brown baggin it? If lunch is a social thing I understand but you would save tons of money and make it as healthy as you like if you chose your own food and bought it yourself.
If not, Wendy's , McD, BK all have a wider selection of salads and healthier food now.
get grilled chicken or fish item whenever possible.
Good luck
