What the hell is wrong with people?
Very rarely does someone do something which makes me shake my head or ponder what is really wrong with our modern society. All the stupid things people do, most of them don't really bug me. There are no fewer than 4 blurbs about someone facing child incest/molestation charges in today's paper, but that's not all that surprising. This one caught me off guard though:

A 16-year-old boy stands accused in adult court of raping two women - including one who is seven months pregnant - during a home invasion last week on Fort Wayne's near-northeast side, according to documents filed Thursday in Allen Superior Court.
Benjamin Arthur Rose, of the 2900 block of White Oak Drive, is charged with three counts of rape; three counts of robbery; four counts of criminal deviant conduct; and one count each of burglary and criminal confinement.
He was being held at the Allen County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $215,000 bail.
A probable cause affidavit alleges Rose and another man forced their way into an apartment in the 2100 block of Hobson Road about 3 a.m. Friday. A man, two women and a toddler were asleep inside.
One of the intruders, who was later identified as Rose, forced the pregnant woman out of the bedroom at gunpoint. Her 2-year-old son was in the room at the time, the affidavit said.
Both intruders began ransacking the apartment, taking electronics, jewelry, a knife and photos of the 2-year-old and demanding money and "weed," the document said.
Rose then ordered the man to cover his head with a blanket and told both women to remove their clothes. He ordered the woman who was not pregnant to perform oral sex on him and then raped her while waving the gun around, according to the affidavit.
Rose then forced the pregnant woman to perform oral sex on him before raping her, the document said.
Both women were then ordered to perform oral sex on the other intruder before Rose raped the woman who was not pregnant a second time, court documents allege.
Rose allowed the women to get dressed as he and the other man loaded the stolen items. Before the intruders left, they ordered the victims to lie on the floor and not to move or they would shoot them. The three remained still for about a minute until the intruders returned to check on them, according to the affidavit.
The pregnant woman finally jumped up and locked the door before calling police, the document states.
Fort Wayne police officer Richard Jennings and his police dog, Reno, followed the intruders' trail to Rose's home on White Oak Drive. The pregnant woman and the man who lived in the apartment were driven to the home on White Oak, where both identified Rose as an assailant. The second man has not been found, police said.
During a search of the White Oak Drive home, a semiautomatic gun and several items stolen from the Hobson Road apartment were found, the affidavit said.

Other than it having occured 3/4 mile from my old apartment, I'm not sure why this particularly struck me. Perhaps raping a 7 months pregnant woman, or perhaps stealing pictures of the two-year-old child. Taking trophies? "Yo, check this shit, we raped this kid's MOM and stole their shit, we RULE!" What the
is wrong with these 2 guys? If you're going to steal, break in, point your gun, take the shit, and leave. Or better yet, do it when they're not ing home! If you're trying to get your jollies, hire a ing hooker with the money you just stole. At least the hooker wouldn't have nightmares for the rest of her life.
There's not a punishment in the world that fits these 2heads.

Not that this story isn't horrible and these guys definitely deserve to be castrated, but doesn't this sound odd to anyone else?
You mean they sleep with the door unlocked? If someone busted into my apartment, the lock would more than likely be broken. Unless they broke in through a window.

Could have broken through a window to gain access at first, then used the door to leave. She then gets up to lock the door, that way it would be too much of a hassle to climb through the window again.

You think that's stupid, get a load of this bit of news I heard over the radio. Two nights ago in SF, two teens tried to car jack this off duty bus driver. One carried an uzi, standing at the driver's side, the other, a gun standing at the passenger side. When the driver refused to give up his car, the two teens open fired. The driver was hit on the shoulder and survived. But what's super stupid is that the two teens shot each other in the process. Passenger side teen is dead, driver side teen is badly injured... and in critical condition.
