I have a cat story. Some 30 years ago my ex-wife and I adopted a stray cat suffering from a broken leg. The yellow tabby crawled up to our apartment door sporting a desheveled appearance as well as a fractured hind leg. Who knows what had befallen the poor kitty. Instead of ignoring the plight of the unfortunate feline, we chose to rush the beast to our neighborhood vet.

Well, some $300.00 later (1972 dollars!), the little bugger's leg was fixed with a permanent screw to connect the remnants of his fractured femur. Lucky us; we had a cat. We dubbed him "Max" and took him into our humble abode.

The vet cautioned us about being careful until the leg had a chance to heal a bit. Upon arriving home, after a short convalescence od say, three minutes, the little yellow bastard proceeded to climb the curtains easily using his claws to facilitate the process.

Needless to say, the next trip to the vet involved not only the removal of stitches, but also the removal of claws. Of course, Max wasn't nearly as bad as a second cat we adopted who turned out to be terminally pregnant and dominoed in out bathtub about two days after she insinuated herself into our life. But that, my young friends, is another story.
