Default What radar detector do you use?

I am looking for a radar detector for the S. I have no idea what ones are out right now and I am about to go do some research. Before I do though, whay detectors do you guys use? What ones seem to work the best? Also, where could I go to read reviews (if they have them)? Any help is appreciated as always.

I really like my Valentine but here is a test from motor trend that may help you!

Yeah, I use the same. The only times I've gotten a tick (*knock on wood) have been when I didn't have the V1 on me.

This is basically a V1 board, but I prefer the Passport 8500.

I've got a 8500 X50 and I love it. People say they prefer the V1 because it has arrows. That's a nice feature, but after you learn how to read the detector, you can tell if the radar is coming from in front of you or behind you and false alerts have a distinct pattern that police radar does not have. I've picked up on-coming police radar up to a mile away. It has great range on all bands. I have yet to get hit with LIDAR so I can't comment on its range, but with X, K and Ka, it works very well. It has POP detection, but I turned mine off because it was giving me false alerts and would scare the living crap out of me (it's got a pretty hair raising alarm for POP). Overall, it's performance has been excellent. It does false occasionally, but any sensitive detector is going to false abit. You'll learn how to read it.

I think my most memorable moment with the detector is when I picked up a sneaky state trooper using instant on in the on-coming lane. I picked him up shooting cars way ahead of me about 25 seconds before he got to me. I got a pretty strong K band hit for about a second and then it quit. I thought it was a rather strange alert, so I slowed down to exactly the speed limit. About 20 seconds later, I come around a bend and sure enough, there's a trooper coming at me in the on-coming lane. As he gets about 100 yards away, he hit me with instant on. Of course I was right at the speed limit and we just stared at each other as we passed. I laughed as he went by. He most likely saw the detector in the window.

passport or V1 will do nicely. they both work great, but since i run a V1, here's a pic of my setup, inspired by a few other members of the boards:
