Default What should I do with these pictures?

Well my office is relocating and I was nominated to go thru the beasment
and sift thru file cabinets from the original owner. (Died in 1975) It
seems that he was a traveller or in the right place at the right time.

The story goes on.....

In 1964, only 5 years after becoming a state, alaska was hit with the
worst earthquake recorded in northamerica. A gigantic 9.2. This took
place on good friday, therefore dubbed 'the good friday quake'. The
accual center of the quacke was about 4 - 5 miles from the coast. With
180 people dead, 120 were from the massive tidal wave. Cars crushed,
house wrecked and businesses torn apart...the pictures are horrific.

I have about 70 to 80 8x10 b+w photos from the day after the quake. My
office wanted to chuck them but in my heart I couldn't. I love old
photos to begin with but I feel then need to go somewhere. Can anyone
recomend where or who I should contact? My mom said the smithsonian, I
was thinkin of a museum up in anchorage alaska since the pix were taken
in anchorage. Your 2 cent would be greatfully appreciated. Thanx a lot
