Well i was never given stuff like that either. Growing up my parents didn't hesitate to whip out the belt or shoe for that matter, and I'm hispanic. MY parents did not tolerate talking back and especially calling them "Stupid". If we were acting up in church.. huge pinch that left bruises. Heck if i were to throw one of those tantrums to my parents back in the day... they would have said OK no party and never would have give back in, even if i begged and pleaded. Some of these kids today are so damn spoiled and aren't grateful for anything they get. They need a swift kick in the ass is what they need.

 

This is the product of the "timeout" philosophy of parenting . Need to bring back the good old days of corporal punishment, that'll bring these kids back in line.

 

My mom was all on the downlow about punishing us, too. Pinches were her favorite tool. Oh I remember those brusies. When we use to get our yearly physicals she would tell us to tell the doctor we got them playing football is he asked. I never knew she could have gotten in big trouble for that. It's strange how much different they treat my daughter than how they treated me, she can do no wrong in their eyes.
